Scope: Structural Facade Design

Client: Dobler Metallbau GmbH

Structural Design of various types of vertical and inclined facades for the new Terminal 3 of Frankfurt Airport using Aluminium and Steel framing materials. The main terminal comprised 12m-high elements while our total input concerned 1.900m² internal facades, 1.800m² temporary facades, 560m² windows, 5.000m² stick system facades, 1.900m² metal sandwich panels, 880m² screen facades. Special topics on impact loading were also considered resulting from the requirement to perform a bomb blast analysis on specific elements.
